Went for a late lunch on a Monday. Place was really quiet but the atmosphere was still fab. The staff were wonderful, especially to our little girl (1yr). Food was great and beer selection on point!

Although the food was great yesterday, the restaurant was packed and the service was disappointing as a result. Extremely patchy and slow delivery of dishes, with even identical dishes delivered separately, which made it difficult to enjoy the meal as a whole. Sure it will be better next time.

We cannot recommend it too highly .Quality of food never varies from excellent ,service is always of a high standard ,atmosphere is perfect and in keeping with historic York ,and we rate it as value for money .

Maxis – YorkWhen we arrived we were shown our table and was asked what drinks we’d like even before we’d got sat down. Asked for a few minutes to decide. We ordered our drink and food at the same time. Drink arrived quickly , food took half hour to turn up, then staff kept coming and asking us if we needed any more drinks. Which we did begin to get fed up with. But to be honest Oscars never fail to disappoint and we will return.

Maxis – YorkWhen we arrived we was seating into alittle alcove area of the restaurant that I would say would be the kids corner, I couldn’t get my knees straight and my FIL was also struggling to sit straight, but felt very squished, so I went back to the bar and they moved us very quickly, we sat at the bar and then the service was very quick for drinks and food., we was always always checked on up until we needed to pay we had staff walking passed loads and the table cleared but still no one asked us anything so we then pulled up a member of staff who brought the bill then we paid and left if it wasn’t being for the good service moving us we would of being uncomfortable throughout but we was happy all in the end food was delicious. And came very quick.
