Dined here on the 28th May 2021. What a nice little find! Compact & unfussy menu with a good choice of "Specials" & a "Set Menu". Simple food VERY well executed. Staff were attentives & courteous. Recommended. Andrew Turner
31 Castlegate Restaurant – YorkHad our evening meal here on a thursday night the restaurant was quiet full but thats ok nice spacing between table meant it was cover safe. My wife and I dined from the set menu the food was was very good at a really reasonable price, whats not to like.

Maxis – YorkUnexpected find but what a treat! Definitely worth visiting if you're after something a bit different. The table grill and jap chea were both delicious and the service was very friendly. Would recommend.
Oshibi Korean Bistro & BBQ – YorkOutstanding food… had a Sunday lunch. We could not find any fault with the quality of the food served . Nice restaurant set near Cliffords Tower . 31 Castlegate Restaurant – YorkMy wife and I have recently had a meal, it was the first weekend of inside dining. The organisation, service and the quality of the food was excellent. I will be recommending anybody visiting York to book a meal.

Maxis – York31 Castlegate is one of our favourite restaurants. The service is friendly but professional, it’s a lovely small restaurant but the tables are well spaced. But most importantly, the food is outstanding. On our most recent trip we chose from the good value fixed price menu. I had a lovely salmon and smoked haddock fishcake, my husband an excellent crispy pork. My main course risotto was perfectly cooked and an excellent combination of flavours. My husband was also wowed by his confit duck with spinach and dauphinoise potatoes. Great selection of wines too. Highly recommended.
