Only a month to go! I can't wait for the new Oscars to open! How will I choose between the Biltmore and Oscars when they are next door to each other! Had a peep through the new doors when the builders were working yesterday and it seemed huge. But some how, it seemed just like a bigger better brighter Oscars! Hope only the location changes so that I can continue enjoying excellent food in a relaxed setting served by superb staff!

its a very sophisticated warm and friendly environment, I thought that the food there was brilliant with the flavours pondering around my mouth. The staff there are easy to approach and friendly always there if you need them.

A really good little eatery. Had a really tasty lunch there today comprising of five of the main course dishes, served in little boats. All delicious food. The staff were friendly but a little slow. Ask to sit in the Moroccan Room upstairs

I had the most fantastic experience there a couple of nights ago. The seafood platter and the manner in which it was served was utterly fantastic. It's quite expensive but that's York. I get the posters point about the crab but crab does take a long time to pick through. The oysters were as fresh as it gets and the lobster pretty, fresh, freshly cooked and tasty. Skip the crayfish.

Have not eaten here since the new regime took over, but having looked at the sample wine list online, I will not be! Anyone who charges £52.50 for Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc must be having a laugh. I reckon that is probably a 300% mark-up. Scandalous!

Went to Saffron Desi for the first time during a recent visit to Leeds; was pleased to find somewhere to get a curry that was close to The Grand Theatre where we were going that evening. Outstanding service, great choice on menu (including for vegetarians), fantastic food and very reasonable price...we couldn't believe our luck. Highly recommend.

Delicious food and nice decor inside. It was a little pricey but the food was worth it I thought.

We visited this restaurant on Friday night it was healthily busy. The waiter took our coats as soon as we arrived and showed us to our table. The decor was trendy with a retro feel and the ambiance was relaxing. The sea food gumbo was outstanding with a mix of Cray fish, cod, monk fish, shrimp, muscles and salmon. My girl friend had Tomato and basil soup which she enjoyed although her main of long horn sirloin was more medium when she asked for it medium well but I enjoyed the taste! I was very disappointed with my main of Crab it was cold there is no way they pulled it out of there tank and got it that cold in the amount of time it got to our table so saying there fresh is a bit of a con. All in all the service was brilliant the food was of a good standard however the disappointment of the night was the price was a little high for the steak and the crab was not fresh as stated 7/10

The Ate O Clock is my favourite restaurant in York and I would not hesitate to recommend it. We visited last night for my birthday meal and the food was wonderful - trio of fish especially. The ambience is second to none and the food amazing. 10/10

If you want something different, the Rose & Crown certainly has it. Lovely place, people, food and drinks. You really must go see for yourself. Eric the Cleric

We went to this brilliant restaurant on a Saturday night during a recent visit to York. The food was completely fantastic. We both had the Kapodokya Special. Rarely do you encounter a meal the taste of which makes you Mmmmmmmmm with delight repeatedly, but this is one of them. It was so so good that although we were both full (the portions are generous) we were determined to eat it all just because it was soooooo good. I even considered asking for another portion to take home with me. The service and attention was excellent and we were offered a free coffee whilst we waited for our taxi to arrive. Only regret - I don't live near enough to visit more often, otherwise I would be there to work my way through the menu every weekend. Will be a regular each time I'm in York. Well Done to Owner and Staff.

Fabulous food in eclectic surroundings. If you love good pub food with restaurant finesse and a friendly atmosphere this place is a must. The lobster thermidor is fantastic ! A lovely selection of complementary breads starts off the meal and the puds..... well what can i say ! to die for.Banjo playing in the bar just to top it off.

ordered some food on the delivery at ten to eight and we rang back at 8.45 to see where our order was the man on the phone was very abrupt and was unpolite said it was on its way so we left it till 9.15 and rang back and he said it would be their in a couple of mins never turned up rang bk a 9.25 and we said if it was cold we were sending it bk the man on the phone was very rude and put the phone down on us would not recommend this Indian or service .

This Restaurant serves the most delicious Italian Meals that it made my husband a fan of Italian food when he has always been a meat and two veg man. All the staff are extremely friendly and once you have tried it you will defo go back

This Restaurant doesn't exist anymore, so we ended up going to Rubicon and it was excellent.

I must say I am sorely disappointed with this place! I was refused entry by the bouncers one Thursday at 8 pm despite making a reservation. After discussion, we were eventually allowed in but my friend was stopped after I entered to allowed a bunch of men out. We checked at the Restaurant section and to confirm the reservation but we left stranded by an ignorant waiter. However, once we were seated, the service by our waiter, Michael was brilliant. The food was mediocre but I was so pleased about the service I tipped him £5.00 (for a £25 bill).

Eating at Red Chilli was a truly great experience! As a party of 3, they didn't take bookings and we went on a saturday evening-we had to wait an hour for a table but happily enjoyed a drink round the corner. The service is a little haphazard and not typically attentive but the staff were friendly and happy to help. The prawn toast beat anything i have had before and the choices were amazing. I'd recommend Red Chilli to any fans of Chinese food or for people wanting a different dining experience-well worth it.
