Saffron Desi – YorkGreat Pub - Especially the food provided on a Tuesday night from the ladies darts team!
Acomb The – YorkOffer an excellent value lunchtime menu, or you can choose from a selection of fabulous specials.Great food, all very delicious, and with special touches including homemade lavender or chocolate bread to start.Wonderful service and a fantastic atmosphere, are definitely going back!
Ate O Clock – YorkI love the food at this place! i have eaten here a number of times and and each time the food has been excellent! The Calzone pizza is fantastic not to mention huge! the pasta dishes are lovely and the steak is beautiful. I always have melon & parma ham for staters, which although a little expensive for a starter is very much worth it as you get a full plate and is presented so well, like all the dishes. It really is hard to choose what to have off the menu! the service is generally very good but have had to wait a while on occasions for drinks. The restaurant is very clean and their is a nice atmosphere, but booking is a must as it gets very busy.
Luigis Restaurant – YorkMy in-laws stumbled across ate o clock and recommended it to us for our break. We were totally knocked of our feet by the outstanding menu and variety of tastes on our plates. Service was supreme and the food came quick and hot. Even met the chef who must be proud of his artistic, full flavoured food with superb sauces and perfectly cooked meats. A treat for the palate, wallet and mind.. Would travel 2hrs back to York just to go again.. Thank you!! Paul & Sharon (lincs)
Ate O Clock – YorkMy friend and I visited this cosy little place midweek. She described her fish as the best that she had ever had. I indulged in the 12 hour cooked beef in a lovely game and bacon sauce. Beautiful food, top quality. The service was very good, the atmosphere delightful and the food was heavenly. For dessert, the chocolate marquise is rich and not too sweet - perfect. My friend had the lemon dessert with a home-made cookie that she enjoyed. It was an unusual mix of tart and sweet flavours that blended very well. Top marks for creativity. I would highly recommend it.
Nineteen Restaurant – YorkThe food on offer that this pub located in a village a few miles north of York is well worth the extra miles. A range of freshly made food including a specials board. I love the fish dishes and Sunday lunch is a family favourite. The wine list is excellent and the staff really seem to know about the wines they are selling.
Rose and Crown – YorkThe food is always of an exceptional standard. I have eaten many times at The Sangthai and keep going back for more. The duck salad has to be one of my favourite although the Green Thai curry known to most people is so fresh and tasty. The service is polite and friendly. I don? belong to the league that thinks you can only drink beer with hot food and therefore love this well chosen wine list. Please try to leave room for the deep fried ice cream rolled in coconut.
Sangthai Restaurant – YorkWe would highly recommend their sandwiches to everybody and I?e never tasted pork scratchings quite like their's
Acomb The – YorkMy husband drove us over from Manchester for a meal for my parents anniversary. We left my parents having a drink and had a walk around to find a restaurant. We saw the menu outside and it had a good selection of food on it so we went in a booked a table. We found my parents and went back. The building is very quaint and looks like it is hundreds of years old. It is deceiving when you're outside how big it is inside as the upstairs floor is really big. We were given some lovely fresh bread and butter when we sat down and we then ordered. We all chose different dishes and they were all lovely (I tried a bit of each). My mum did send her soup back to be warmed up as it wasn't hot enough but apart from that everything was great. The inside of the restaurant is quite dark and it could do with better lighting. We would eat there again. The prices were reasonable for the food we had.
Gert and Henry‘s – YorkThe only hiccup of the evening was trying to decide what to eat, each of our party of four said the same and we were all drooling over the dishes we saw being served to the other tables. For food this standard we thought it was good value for money. Little touches such as home made breads and tiny chocolate tarts they served with coffee just made it even better. Fabulous night.
Ate O Clock – YorkDelrio's is one of my fave restaurants! It is a very busy little place so the service can lapse a little but the food is out of this world! I recommend the scallops with pancetta and spinach special! The food 100% makes up for struggling to get a waiters attention!
Delrio’s – YorkI visited this restaurant for the first time on my Birthday this year after numerous recommendations from friends. From the minute I walked in I liked it, not shabby interior like recent Indian restaurants i have visited, chic and sophisticated, the lighting gave a relaxed mood in which we enjoyed drinks whilst browsing the menu. There were 5 of us eating and we shared poppadoms and dips for starters which were lovely and the waiters were very attentive. We ordered our main courses and with prior knowledge of the size of the nans, were careful not to over order as they are huge!! I had the chicken korma and it was just divine, creamy, tasty, the best I?e ever had and the nans were cooked (freshly, you can see them making them in the glass fronted Kitchen) to perfection. With persuasion from my mum i accepted the ice cream and sparkler and was highly surprised/embarrassed when all the waiters gathered round to sing to me! We had our photo taken by Polaroid and given it in a presentation card which was a very nice gesture, a memory now i can cherish. The only niggle i had was that they cleared up so fast you had to make sure you hadn't left anything on your plate you actually wanted! But with the amount of food on tables this is hardly a criticism, just efficiency i suppose. The total bill was very reasonable and i have been longing to go back ever since!! (i'm working on the boyfriend!!)
Akbars – YorkWOW! i think is the only word that can describe this restaurant! a number one venue for that special occasion or family day out! The staff made us feel very welcome especially the young manager Ben who made the evening very entertaining! I don? think my wife and family could stop laughing all night! This is a restaurant like no other, a real landmark for York! A great large selection of starters, mains, and desserts were available, with a good drinks list on the side. Very fun and affordable. I can guarantee you have not eaten pizza or pasta in a setting like this! There is no other! recommended first choice!
ASK – YorkMIXED GRILL TO DIE FOR THE BEST !
White Horse Inn – YorkGreat menu and great blackboard of grills with a selection of locally sourced steaks, lamb and rare breed pork. Sunday lunch is also excellent here, probably the best for miles around, well kept real ales and lovely roaring fire in the bar was very welcoming.
Blackwell Ox Inn – YorkHaving eaten at this restaurant for over 18-months on multiple occasions we have never been disappointed with any aspect of the eating experience. I challenge anyone to have a bad night out at this fantastic venue. The service and ambiance are first class! A hidden gem one might say
