Spent our 20th wedding anniversary in York and wanted somewhere intimate to eat. the restaurant is cosy and probably a little old fashioned but the food at the Go down was superb, the home made soup with a huge slap of home made bread was so filling we hardly had room left for the main course. the restaurant is run by a husband and wife team who are very friendly i would definitely return again.
Go Down The – YorkNo trip to York would be complete without a meal at Ate O?lock! After being advised to try this place, we where so impressed we visited twice in the same weekend. The only words to describe the food was fantastic, service was excellent, and the overall experience was fantastic. Will definitely be back.
Ate O Clock – YorkWe have had two family celebrations here, both were a great success. The staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly and despite us arriving late they accommodated us with a smile. The food is very good and we particularly like the upstairs lounge where you can relax with a drink before or after your meal. Highly recommended.
Dining Room – YorkI have eaten at ate o'clock now on several occasions, either as a couple or once with quite a large party and on every occasion the food has been superb. The prices for lunch and their early evening menu are incredibly low for the quality of food served, Having lived in London for 30 years it really makes a refreshing change. Service is very good and the head chef spends time talking to customers, without being in your face like some restaurants. Finally the wine list, while not too extensive is of good quality and very fairly priced. One of the best restaurants in York
Ate O Clock – YorkThe habit was a pleasant surprise. I often walk down this street but completely miss it. It seems quite small at first but has extra seating upstairs and a beautiful outside terrace area where you get a good view of the minister. I enjoyed an evening meal with my partner here for our anniversary. It had lovely lighting, unusual decorations and a comfy sofa to relax on. I often go there now I know about it, for a coffee during my shopping trips.
Habit, The – YorkFantastic Indian restaurant with a wide range of freshly prepared dishes. Extremely good value for money with 15% student discount on offer with valid NUS. The food is amazing and they don't rip you off with drinks which can so often be the case. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. They also offer a superb takeaway menu which can be delivered or picked up. I am definitely a regular!

Rose and Crown – YorkWe went in at 10:10pm, and still got served an excellent meal by a very friendly waiter, in comfortable, pleasing surroundings. Very impressed.
Meltons Too – YorkFirst visit, but certainly will not be the last. Kenny and Jane certainly have one of the best all round restaurants in the North. Food to die for, ambience is excellent, with first class service from all the staff.

El Piano – YorkOn our visit to York 20/10/06 we found this amazing restaurant and can't recommend it enough! The food, service & setting were just the best ever, if you have never been here then you must GO and see what you are missing out on!!! Fantastic many thanks and see you again!

Olive Tree – Yorkthis is an excellent restaurant, with a great atmosphere. Catherine and Adam always make you feel welcome, and they are great at catering for my nut allergy. Adam's assiette of chocolate is to die for. we always visit the restaurant when we are in York. Can't recommend it enough!!!!
Lime House The – YorkWe are locals who love this place. The food is fresh, very tasty and the menu contains some original dishes ('chef's recommendations'). Very friendly and professional service. If you like great Indian cuisine you won't be disappointed. Quiet ambience and reasonable cost makes it pleasant all round. Try it!
Bengal Brasserie – YorkThis is a true silver service establishment of impeccable refinement. If you desire to take your time over your meal and savour the most exquisite food that is cooked and served to perfection and you also wish to be free of yobish loud mouthed fellow diners then this is the place to have that special occasion. The price reflects but is worth every penny.
